Key findings

  • SpendNode observed $76.71 million of crypto card spending across 11 mapped programs in the seven days through September 13, down 3.97% from the immediately preceding UTC week.
  • Five programs grew and six declined. Ether.fi's $4.05 million decrease was larger than the measured set's $3.17 million net decline because gains elsewhere offset part of it.
  • Ether.fi remained first at $28.53 million even as its volume fell 12.4%. Its observed spend-event count increased 2.3%, bringing the average value per event down from $91.53 to $78.34.
  • KAST, Wirex One, and Plasma One all grew. Wirex posted the fastest increase among programs above $1 million, rising 9.1% to $5.61 million.
  • Solana's share rose from 24.2% to 34.2%, but most of that shift came from KAST settlement batches landing on different chains rather than a comparable increase in total KAST volume.

The weekly close

Observed spending reached $76,713,923 between September 7 at 00:00 UTC and September 14 at 00:00 UTC. The comparison uses the same 11 programs and measurement rules as the previous close, so the 3.97% decline does not reflect a coverage change.

Ether.fi accounted for the largest movement, declining by $4.05 million to $28.53 million. Xplace fell by $408,539, MetaMask by $132,548, and Gnosis Pay by $99,516. Smaller decreases at Avici and Peanut brought the combined decline across six programs to $4.72 million.

Five programs offset $1.55 million of that reduction. KAST added $542,645, Wirex One added $470,132, Plasma One added $387,499, Tria added $101,755, and Jupiter added $47,480.

Measured crypto card spending declined 4.0% in the week through September 13, even as five of the 11 mapped programs recorded growth.

More ether.fi events carried less value

Ether.fi remained the largest measured program, but its weekly result moved in two directions. Observed volume declined 12.4% while the number of spend events increased from 355,972 to 364,166. The average observed value per event consequently fell from $91.53 to $78.34.

The chain data establishes that mix change, but it does not identify why individual cardholders made smaller payments. It should not be interpreted as evidence of a pricing, rewards, or user-behavior change without supporting product or account-level evidence.

KAST retained second place at $24.80 million, up 2.2%. Ether.fi and KAST together represented $53.33 million, or 69.5% of observed spend, down from 71.2% in the preceding week.

Growth below the two largest programs

Wirex One recorded the fastest increase among programs above $1 million. Volume rose 9.1% to $5.61 million, card-debit events increased from 84,605 to 92,281, and observed active wallets increased from 8,614 to 9,210. No unsupported currency codes appeared in this week's result.

Plasma One grew 8.0% to $5.22 million. Its observed active-wallet count rose 5.5% to 11,192, while settlement events increased 7.8% to 33,982.

Tria reached $5.08 million, up 2.0%, although its deduplicated active-wallet count declined 2.7% to 20,779. Jupiter rose 2.7% to $1.78 million while observed active wallets increased 18.4% to 9,235.

Xplace posted the largest percentage decline among programs above $1 million, falling 14.7% to $2.36 million. Its observed wallet count declined 10.9% to 1,534. Gnosis Pay decreased 5.4% to $1.75 million.

MetaMask recorded $744,374 across its observed Base, Linea, and Solana rails, down 15.1%. Avici settled $816,608 across its current Solana and EVM routes, down 2.5%. Peanut recorded $21,748, down 16.3%.

KAST batches moved the chain table

Optimism remained the largest settlement chain at $28.81 million, or 37.6% of observed spend. Solana followed at $26.25 million and increased its share from 24.2% to 34.2%.

The $6.91 million increase in observed Solana volume does not describe a matching increase in total card spending. Six of KAST's seven issuer settlement batches landed on Solana this week, compared with four in the preceding week. KAST's Solana value increased by $7.30 million, while its Ethereum and Base value declined by a combined $6.75 million. Total KAST volume increased by only $542,645.

That routing change also reduced Ethereum's measured share from 8.3% to 4.5% and Base's from 6.4% to 2.0%. The chain table records where mapped value settled onchain. It is not blockchain market share for all crypto cards, and issuer-batch routing can move its columns without an equivalent change in purchases.

Measurement notes

This report covers a closed seven-day UTC period. It combines purchase-level wallet debits, card-settlement events, and issuer settlement batches only where each program's public methodology labels the basis. Event counts are compared within programs and are not treated as interchangeable across different settlement designs.

Later offchain refunds and chargebacks may not return through the same onchain route, so several series are gross rather than net. KAST's seven transactions are issuer settlement batches, not seven card purchases. MetaMask's identified Monad rail and Avici's unidentified retired route remain outside coverage.

The preceding week and this report are frozen snapshots. Their downloadable CSV, JSON, and chart files keep stable URLs. If stronger evidence changes a published result, SpendNode will label and date the correction rather than silently rewriting the weekly close.
