SpendNode Vendor Rating

3.8/5
Known for: global stablecoin card access

KAST scores well because it keeps showing up in real product conversations, not just in marketing. The operator feels active, relevant, and increasingly credible.

Momentum and availability help a lot here. The issuer still gives points back on maturity and long-term certainty, but it no longer feels easy to dismiss as a thin rollout.

What Is KAST?

KAST is a custodial prepaid Visa card program offering 10 variants across 4 tiers (Standard, Premium, Limited, Luxe) with multiple design collections including KAST original, Solana, Bitcoin, and Pudgy Penguins (Pengu). All designs at the same tier share identical economics: same rewards points rates (2-8%), same fees, same $MOVE cashback (4%).

All cards support USDC and USDT spending, have 0.5-1.75% FX fees on non-USD transactions, $3 flat plus 2% ATM fees, require 2-minute KYC via Sumsub, are issued by Third National, and are available in 170+ countries. KAST has a 4.5-star App Store rating from 10 reviews.

Our fee audit covered every crypto card lineup on the market, and KAST operates the most extensive program: 10 distinct Visa variants spanning price points from $0 to $10,000/year. No other issuer offers this range of tiers, card designs, or reward structures under one platform. The design collection model means you pick your tier based on spending math, then choose the card art you prefer.

The 10-Card Lineup

Each tier is available in multiple physical card designs, all with identical economics. Choose your design purely on aesthetics.

Standard Tier (Free, 2% Season 5 Points):

KAST K Card - Standard tier, 2% rewards points, 0.25x SOL staking boost, free

K Card - Classic KAST design, also available as Solana Card and Bitcoin Silver Card (same economics, different physical designs). The free entry point to the KAST ecosystem.

Premium Tier ($1,000/year, 5% Season 5 Points):

KAST X Card - Premium tier metal card, 5% rewards points, 0.5x SOL staking boost, $1,000/year

X Card - 100% chromoly steel 32g metal card, also available as Solana Illuma (illuminating metal) and Bitcoin Black (black metal) designs. All share identical economics at $1,000/year.

5% Season 5 Points | 0.5x SOL boost | $1,000/yr

Limited Tier ($5,000 one-time, 5% Season 5 Points):

KAST Founders Edition - Limited tier, 5% rewards, VIP concierge, $5,000 one-time

Founders Edition - Strictly limited supply, no annual fee ever, includes VIP concierge and event invitations (normally Luxe-only perks).

5% Season 5 Points | VIP concierge | $5,000 one-time

Luxe Tier ($10,000/year, 8% Season 5 Points):

KAST Solana Gold Card - Luxe tier 24K gold, 8% rewards, 1x SOL staking, VIP concierge, $10,000/year

Pengu Collection (3 Cards, Pudgy Penguins Branding)

The Pengu Card collection launched in partnership with Pudgy Penguins - one of the most recognized NFT-born brands with physical retail presence (1.5M+ toys at Walmart/Target), the PENGU token on Solana, and over 770,000 token holders. The Pengu cards are Pudgy Penguins-branded versions of KAST's Standard, Premium, and Luxe tiers with identical economics:

  • Pengu Card (Standard) - 2% points, free, plastic, Visa Platinum
  • Pengu Black Card (Premium) - 5% points, $1,000/yr, metal, Visa Infinite
  • Pengu Gold Card (Luxe) - 8% points, $10,000/yr, 24K gold, VIP concierge, Visa Infinite

Same fees, same rewards, same staking boosts as the matching non-Pengu tier. The difference is Pudgy Penguins card art and community identity. See the full Pengu collection review for details.

Rewards and Cashback

Every KAST card earns two parallel reward streams simultaneously:

Season 5 Points (Original Lineup)

Season 5 runs December 1, 2025 through March 31, 2026 - the final points-earning phase before the Token Generation Event (TGE) targeted for Q2 2026. The conversion: 1 KAST Point = 1 KAST token at TGE. Post-TGE seasons will reduce point emissions by 10-25% per season, making the current window the highest-yield opportunity.

Premium5%0.5x100 points

$MOVE Cashback (All Cards)

All 7 KAST cards earn 4% cashback in $MOVE tokens on every purchase, capped at $2,000/month in qualifying spend ($80/month max $MOVE). $MOVE is already live and tradable on Binance, OKX, and Bybit - this is not a speculative token but a liquid, market-priced asset.

FX Impact on Net Returns

For non-USD spenders, the 0.5-1.75% FX fee reduces net rewards:

Stablecoin-Only Spending

KAST takes a deliberately simple approach to card spending: USDC and USDT only. You do not spend volatile crypto through the card. Stablecoin deposits are converted 1:1 at 0% spread. Non-stablecoin deposits (SOL, ETH, BTC, etc.) are auto-converted at 2-5% fee.

The spending flow:

  1. Complete KYC via Sumsub (takes approximately 2 minutes)
  2. Deposit USDC or USDT to your KAST wallet (0% top-up fee)
  3. Activate your virtual card instantly (Apple Pay and Google Pay supported)
  4. Spend at any of 150M+ Visa merchants in 170+ countries
  5. On USD transactions: 0% card spend fee. On non-USD: 0.5-1.75% FX fee
  6. Earn Season 5 points and/or cashback based on your tier
  7. $MOVE cashback credited separately (4% across all tiers)

Virtual cards are issued instantly upon registration. Physical cards are included on Premium, Limited, and Luxe tiers. Standard tier physical cards are available for $40 shipping.

Fiat Off-Ramp and Withdrawal Options

KAST offers comprehensive withdrawal options beyond card spending:

Bank transfers (14 currencies): USD (ACH $2 / FedWire $15), EUR (1% FX), GBP ($3 + 1% FX), AED ($3 + 1% FX), JPY ($30 + 1% FX), SAR ($30 + 1% FX), INR ($2 + 1% FX), IDR ($2 + 1% FX), PHP ($2 + 1% FX), THB ($2 + 1% FX), NGN ($2 + 1% FX), MXN ($2 + 1% FX), AUD ($4 + 1% FX)

Stablecoin withdrawals (4 networks): Solana ($1 + 0.1%), Arbitrum ($0.20 + 0.1%), Ethereum ($6 + 0.1%), Tron ($5 + 0.1%). Minimum $5.

Local payment rails: PIX (BRL, 0.88% deposit / 1% payout), SPEI (MXN, 0.5% deposit / 1% payout)

Note: The Pengu Card (Pudgy Penguins design) has identical economics to KAST Standard - same 2% points, same fees, same $MOVE cashback.

KAST Standard vs ether.fi Core: KAST earns 2% points + 4% $MOVE for free versus ether.fi's 3% USDC. KAST wins on total reward potential and 170+ country availability. ether.fi wins on self-custody, 0% FX in supported countries, and guaranteed stablecoin rewards. KAST's 0.5-1.75% FX fee is a cost that ether.fi avoids.

KAST Standard vs Crypto.com: KAST Standard earns 2% points + 4% $MOVE for free. Crypto.com Midnight Blue earns 0%. KAST wins on rewards at the free tier by every measure. Crypto.com wins on ecosystem breadth, established track record, and 0% FX at higher tiers.

Who Should Use KAST?

Choose the right tier first:

  • Standard (free): Start with the K Card or Pengu Card to test the platform. 2% points + 4% $MOVE
  • Premium ($1,000/yr): Upgrade if spending exceeds $1,667/month. X Card or Pengu Black. 5% points + 4% $MOVE
  • Luxe ($10,000/yr): For ultra-high spenders. Solana Gold or Pengu Gold. 8% points + VIP concierge

Then choose your card design:

  • KAST original, Solana, Bitcoin, or Pudgy Penguins - all share identical economics at the same tier. Pick the art you like

Key considerations for all KAST cards:

  • FX fee: 0.5-1.75% on non-USD transactions. USD domestic spenders get the best economics. International spenders should compare against 0% FX alternatives like Bleap or Gnosis Pay
  • ATM fees: $3 flat + 2% makes ATM withdrawals expensive. Avoid ATM use or budget for the cost
  • KYC required: 2-minute process via Sumsub. Not a no-KYC card

Look elsewhere if:

  • You require self-custody: ether.fi (3% cashback, self-custodial) or MetaMask (1-3%, self-custodial)
  • You want 0% FX guaranteed: Bleap or Gnosis Pay
  • You need a credit card (not prepaid): Gemini (up to 4% crypto rewards)
  • You want an established platform with years of history: Crypto.com (7+ years)

Our take: KAST's tiered system offers a clear path from free entry to ultra-premium, with multiple card design collections at each tier level. The dual reward streams (Season 5 points + $MOVE cashback) give the free Standard tier a stronger total reward potential than most competitors. The 170+ country availability and 2-minute KYC make it one of the most accessible cards in the market. The trade-offs are custodial holding, the 0.5-1.75% FX drag on non-USD spending, and the uncertainty of pre-TGE points valuation.

Is KAST Safe?

  • Card issuer: Third National
  • Network: Visa, accepted at 150M+ merchants globally
  • KYC: Required via Sumsub (approximately 2 minutes)
  • Custody: Custodial (funds held on KAST platform)
  • Stablecoin-only: USDC and USDT spending eliminates conversion risk
  • Operating history: 2+ years of card operations
  • Fiat off-ramp: 14 supported currencies for bank withdrawals

The Third National issuance provides banking regulatory oversight for the card program. Stablecoin-only spending means no volatile crypto liquidation at point of sale - the exact amount you see is the exact amount deducted.

Is KAST a Scam?

  1. KAST has been operating card services for 2+ years, issuing Visa cards through regulated infrastructure. The platform predates the current crypto card wave and has maintained continuous operations throughout.

  2. Cards are issued by Third National, a regulated banking institution that provides the Visa card issuance and banking oversight for the program.

  3. KYC is processed by Sumsub, a widely used identity verification provider (also used by Bybit, Jupiter, and other crypto platforms). The government ID + selfie verification takes approximately 2 minutes.

  4. KAST has a 4.5-star App Store rating from 10 reviews. The review count is small, reflecting KAST's niche positioning in crypto card markets rather than mainstream retail adoption.

  5. The Visa network provides standard transaction protections, including chargeback mechanisms and dispute resolution at 150M+ merchants globally.

  6. The Pudgy Penguins partnership (Pengu collection) is a legitimate co-branded collaboration with one of the most recognized NFT-born brands, which has physical retail presence at Walmart and Target (1.5M+ toys sold) and over 770,000 PENGU token holders.

What to be aware of

  • Custody is fully centralized - if KAST goes offline, deposited funds are at risk.
  • Season 5 points have no guaranteed value until the Token Generation Event (TGE), targeted for Q2 2026 but not confirmed.
  • The $MOVE cashback is paid in a volatile token, not stablecoins.
  • The 0.5-1.75% FX fee range is opaque - the exact rate depends on country pairs that are not fully published.
  • The $0.50 declined-transaction fee is unusual in the market.
  • The 10-review App Store count is extremely small for assessing user satisfaction at scale.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which assets do KAST cards support for spending?

KAST cards support USDC, USDT, and USDe stablecoins. Non-stablecoin deposits are auto-converted to stablecoins at 2-5% (varies per token).

How fast is KYC and card access?

KAST says KYC takes less than two minutes and the virtual card is available instantly after sign-up.

How does USD cashback work on KAST?

Standard earns 1.5% USD cashback on the first $2,000 of monthly spend, Premium earns 2% on the first $10,000, and Luxe earns 3% on the first $50,000. Above the cap, spending continues but earns no further cashback that month. Caps reset on the 1st of each calendar month. Cashback has a 14-day timelock before redemption, must be manually redeemed in-app, and is automatically applied to your next card purchase. It cannot be withdrawn to fiat or an external wallet. KAST renamed Luxe to Private in May 2026; we use Luxe for consistency.

Do KAST cards still pay $MOVE cashback?

No. KAST replaced the 4% $MOVE cashback program with USD cashback in May 2026. Existing $MOVE balances earned before the change remain in user accounts. New spend earns USD cashback only, at 1.5% Standard, 2% Premium, and 3% Luxe.

What are KAST Points and do they convert to a token?

KAST Points are an additional reward stream on Premium (1%) and Luxe (2%) tiers, on top of the USD cashback. Standard tier does not earn KAST Points. KAST has not published a token conversion ratio or TGE timeline post-May-2026 — treat KAST Points as a platform loyalty stream rather than a guaranteed future token.

What is the KAST Pengu Card?

The Pengu Cards are Pudgy Penguins-branded versions of KAST's Standard, Premium, and Luxe tiers. Pengu Card (1.5% USD cashback, free), Pengu Black Card (2% USD cashback + 1% KAST Points, $1,000/yr, metal), and Pengu Gold Card (3% USD cashback + 2% KAST Points, $10,000/yr, 24K gold). Same economics as regular KAST cards with Pudgy Penguins branding. Available in 170+ countries via Visa.

Is the KAST Card a credit card?

No. KAST cards are prepaid Visa cards, not credit cards. You load USDC or USDT and spend your own balance - there is no credit line, no APR, and no credit check. For crypto-backed credit card options, see our reviews of Gemini, ether.fi, Nexo, and Avici.

What are KAST's FX fees?

KAST charges 0.5-1.75% on non-USD transactions, depending on your country of residence and the transaction country. USD transactions have 0% card spend fee. There is also a $0.10 fee on non-USD transactions under $25, and a $0.50 fee for declined transactions.

What are KAST's ATM withdrawal fees and limits?

ATM withdrawals cost $3 flat plus 2% of the withdrawal amount (plus FX fee for non-USD ATMs). Maximum $250 per withdrawal, 3 withdrawals or $750 per 24 hours.

How do you choose KAST crypto cards?

We compare verified issuer sources, fees, and eligibility. Availability can change, so confirm with the issuer before applying.

Do all cards in this list offer the same benefits?

No. Each issuer defines its own program terms. Review the sources on each card profile.

Are these rankings or recommendations?

No. Lists are filtered views of cards in our database and do not imply rankings.
