Pulsar Money told users on November 2 that its app now accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies as deposit assets, widening the funding options for its stablecoin-backed Visa account. The company posted the change on its official X account and pointed users to the new options inside the app. Until this update, Pulsar balances were topped up with stablecoins only.
Bitcoin and Ether join the deposit list
The card behind Pulsar's app is a Wirex-provided virtual Visa Platinum that spends from a USD or EUR balance. Those balances were funded with USDT or USDC for dollars and EURC for euros. When SpendNode reviewed the app in October 2026, direct Ether funding was not available at all. This update changes that side of the product: users can move Bitcoin and Ether into a Pulsar account directly, without first buying a stablecoin somewhere else. Pulsar did not publish a full list of the additional coins in its post, so the exact set beyond BTC and ETH is not yet confirmed.
Deposits still settle into a dollar or euro balance
One detail matters for anyone reading the headline as "spend Bitcoin directly." The Visa card draws from an available USD or EUR balance funded with stablecoins, not from a raw BTC or ETH balance at checkout. Pulsar's post did not spell out the settlement path for the new assets. Based on how the account worked at our last review, a crypto deposit has to reach that spending balance before it can be tapped, which points to an in-app conversion. Pulsar's swap carries a 1.25% fee, and that applies even when network gas is sponsored. Holders of USDT, USDC, or EURC keep the cleanest route, since those fund matching balances at 1:1 with no Pulsar loading fee.
The users this reaches
The change helps people who hold Bitcoin or Ether rather than stablecoins and want to spend through Pulsar. Before, they had to acquire a stablecoin first; now they can deposit coins already in their wallet. Pulsar lists 76 card-eligible countries and territories, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and much of Europe, so the wider on-ramp reaches a broad base rather than one market. Before depositing, check the network shown for each asset in the app and match it against the sending wallet. A deposit sent over the wrong chain can be hard or impossible to recover.
Rewards and fees stay the same
This is a funding change, not a rewards change. The free Pulsar plan still earns 0.5% in Pulsar Points on the first $500 of monthly eligible spend and has no monthly fee, while Pro raises the first band to 2% for $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. Rewards arrive as Pulsar Points that users claim as a USDC refund against an eligible purchase, so the new deposit assets do not change how cashback rewards are earned or redeemed. The 1% cross-currency fee on card spending is also unchanged.
Overview
Pulsar Money now accepts Bitcoin, Ether, and other cryptocurrencies as account deposits, a step past its previous stablecoin-only funding. The virtual Visa still spends from a USD or EUR balance, so crypto deposits reach the card through an in-app conversion that carries Pulsar's 1.25% swap fee. For holders of BTC or ETH in any of Pulsar's 76 supported markets, the update removes the step of buying a stablecoin first. Rewards, plan prices, and the 1% cross-currency fee are unchanged. Verify the deposit network for each asset before sending.
