SpendNode Rating for MEXC
MEXC's card program pairs the wide-coverage Global Card (0% purchase fees through September 30, then 1%, no MEXC FX markup, and 4-10% VVIP cashback) with a four-market APAC card. A separate MEXC x ether.fi route is managed through ether.fi.
MEXC publishes worked fee examples and detailed limits. The counterweights are the lack of a named issuer or published safeguarding arrangement in the reviewed card documents, exchange custody of spending balances, cashback gated by trading-driven VVIP scores, and campaign terms MEXC may end.

MEXC is a global cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2018 that offers virtual Visa payment cards funded with USDT from users' exchange accounts. Its card program consists of the MEXC Global Card, available in over 100 markets, and the MEXC Card (APAC), available in Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
What Is the MEXC Card?
MEXC's card program covers many markets that US-, UK-, and EU-focused cards leave out. The MEXC Global Card is available across Southeast Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean, the Gulf, and Central Asia, plus Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, and Israel. It is a virtual, USD-denominated Visa funded with USDT. Purchase fees are waived through September 30, 2026, then return to 1%, while MEXC adds no markup to Visa's exchange rate. Cashback ranges from 4% to 10% according to the user's MEXC VVIP tier.

MEXC Card Products
- MEXC Global Card - the main product in this review. It is a virtual Visa for 100+ markets with 4-10% VVIP-tiered cashback and an $80,000 per-transaction limit.
- MEXC Card (APAC) - a regional alternative for Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. It charges no transaction fee, but applies a 1% crypto conversion fee and a 1% cross-border fee. The Global Card is also available in those four markets, so SpendNode covers the APAC terms on this vendor page instead of maintaining a second product review.
- MEXC x ether.fi Credit Card - a co-branded route managed through ether.fi, with ether.fi's application, terms, and country list. We cover that product under ether.fi.

How the MEXC Card Works
The Global Card runs on a prepaid balance model. You fund a Fiat account inside MEXC with USDT transferred from your Spot account, bought through Quick Buy or P2P, or deposited on-chain. The card spends from that balance in USD. There is no crypto conversion fee on the Global Card. Its purchase fee is 0% through September 30, 2026, then 1%.
Application requires Advanced KYC, and approval usually completes within minutes. Each verified identity generally gets one card. The card is virtual only, with no physical version and no ATM access. Apple Pay and Google Pay are both supported, but through manual card entry: you copy the card number into your mobile wallet and complete verification, rather than one-tap provisioning from the app. Once added, contactless works normally anywhere Visa is accepted.
Transactions follow the standard authorization-then-settlement flow, with settlement typically taking 1 to 3 business days. That matters for rewards: cashback only calculates on settled transactions, and refunded or reversed purchases claw back any cashback already credited.
MEXC Card Cashback and VVIP Tiers
MEXC's cashback is part of the exchange's VVIP loyalty program, not a flat card perk. The published 10% rate applies only at the highest documented tier.
VVIP assigns every user a real-time M-Score based on trading volume, platform activity, and security credit. Your card cashback rate follows your tier:
| Tier | M-Score | Cashback rate | Monthly cashback cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 350-599 | 4% | 100 USDT |
| Premier | 600-799 | 6% | 300 USDT |
| Elite | 800+ | 10% | 800 USDT |
The caps limit the cashback amount, not your spending. At 4%, the 100 USDT cap binds once you spend $2,500 in a month; at 6%, the 300 USDT cap binds at $5,000; at 10%, the 800 USDT cap binds at $8,000. Spending above the cap still goes through, it just stops earning.
Your rate for a given month is locked by your tier on the last calendar day of that month, and payouts land in USDT in your Spot account by the 15th of the following month. Standard MCC exclusions apply: financial services, cash-like transactions, money transfers, gift card loads, gambling, government payments, and donations earn nothing.
The 10% headline belongs to Elite, which requires an M-Score of 800+. M-Score depends heavily on activity and trading volume on MEXC. This resembles Bitget's BGB-holding tiers: the maximum rate is available, but most cardholders will not qualify automatically. Use Standard's 4% for planning only after confirming that tier in the account.
The 7% MEXC Earn Plan
Cardholders get access to a card-exclusive Flexible Savings product paying 7% APR on USDT, from 100 up to 100,000 USDT, with interest calculated hourly and paid daily. Redemption is flexible with immediate access. It runs independently of cashback, so idle card float earns while it waits to be spent. MEXC states the 7% rate is fixed only "during the event period," so treat it as promotional pricing rather than a permanent feature.
MEXC Card Fees and Foreign Exchange
The Global Card currently has two separate waivers. Its standard $20 issuance fee is waived for a limited period, and its 1% purchase fee is waived through September 30, 2026. After September 30, the standard 1% purchase fee returns. There is no annual, top-up, inactivity, or termination fee.
Under the standard fee, a 100 EUR hotel booking at an assumed Visa rate of 1.08 converts to $108, then adds $1.08 in transaction fees, for a total of 109.08 USDT. During the September waiver, MEXC does not add that $1.08 fee. Visa's exchange rate still applies in both cases. For comparison, ether.fi Core's published FX terms put a similar cross-border purchase near 1.7%, while our measured Oobit transaction was near 3% after FX.
Visa's own exchange rate can sit a fraction of a percent away from mid-market depending on the currency pair. That is not a MEXC markup, but it remains part of the real conversion cost.
Repeated failed transactions can trigger a $0.50 charge per attempt and, in serious cases, card termination. Check the Fiat-account balance before paying.
Is the MEXC Card Safe?
MEXC is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange operating since 2018 and claims more than 40 million users. The card documents reviewed by SpendNode do not identify the issuing bank, BIN sponsor, or safeguarding arrangement behind the Global Card. That disclosure gap makes it harder to assess what protection, if any, applies specifically to the card balance.
The card spends from the MEXC Fiat account, so users must keep USDT on the exchange before paying. MEXC publishes proof-of-reserves snapshots, but proof of reserves does not establish deposit insurance or explain how card balances would be treated if MEXC or a program partner failed. Keep only the amount needed for near-term spending unless MEXC publishes clearer protections.
Card-level security is standard: 3D Secure steps in for high-risk, cross-border, and first transactions (and where local rules like PSD2 require it), you can freeze the card in-app, and disputes follow Visa timelines of 90 to 120 days depending on the case type.
Is MEXC a Scam?
MEXC is an operating exchange with a public product, card documentation, and proof-of-reserves reporting. We found no basis to call the card a scam. The concern is disclosure and custody: card funding, unpaid cashback, and money subscribed to the 7% Earn plan all remain inside the MEXC system, while the reviewed card documents do not name the issuer or explain the balance-protection structure. That is a reason to limit the balance, not evidence that the product is fraudulent.
MEXC Card Cost Examples
The examples below use the standard 1% purchase fee that starts after September 30, 2026. During the current fee waiver, subtract the stated fee from each example and the net return increases by one percentage point.
Liza, a freelance designer in Manila spending $900/month. She funds the card with USDT earned from overseas clients, trades occasionally, and sits at the Standard tier. Cashback is 36 USDT. The standard 1% fee is $9, leaving about 27 USDT per month, or 3%. Over six months that is roughly 162 USDT after purchase fees.
Minjun, an active trader in Seoul spending $6,000/month. His MEXC futures volume keeps his M-Score above 800, so he earns Elite's 10%. Cashback is $600, under the 800 USDT cap. The standard fee is $60, leaving 540 USDT per month, or 9%. The return is high because his existing trading activity already qualifies him for Elite.
Amara, a light trader in Nairobi spending $1,500/month. Her account shows the Standard tier, so at 4% she earns 60 USDT against $15 in fees, netting 45 USDT (3%). If her M-Score falls below the documented Standard threshold, MEXC does not publish what card rate would apply. She should check her VVIP page before relying on the reward and keep RedotPay as a fallback.
How to Apply for the MEXC Global Card
- Open SpendNode's MEXC link and create a new MEXC account with code 4AwNR.
- Complete MEXC Advanced KYC. Facial verification and proof of address may be requested.
- Open Buy Crypto, select MEXC Card, and choose the Global Card.
- Submit the application questionnaire and wait for approval, which MEXC says usually takes a few minutes.
- Move USDT into the Fiat account, activate the virtual card, and add it manually to Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Who Should Use MEXC?
The Global Card makes the most sense if you already trade on MEXC and live in one of its 100+ supported markets, because existing activity can qualify for the higher VVIP rates. It is also a reasonable pick for non-traders in the Philippines, Nigeria, Peru, Sri Lanka, or Uzbekistan who need a USDT-funded Visa. Those users should confirm that Standard is active in their account rather than assume the 4% rate.
Skip it if you live in the US, UK, EU core, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, or the UAE, where it is not offered. It also does not fit users who require self-custody. The purchase-fee waiver, 7% Earn plan, cashback program, and welcome bonus are campaign terms that MEXC may adjust or end.
MEXC Card Verdict
The MEXC Global Card combines broad availability with unusually high cashback for users who qualify for a VVIP tier. It currently charges no purchase fee, moves to 1% after September 30, and adds no markup to Visa's exchange rate. Active MEXC traders receive the most value. Other users should confirm their VVIP status before planning around the 4% rate and should keep their exchange balance limited because the issuer and safeguarding structure are not publicly identified in the reviewed documents.
Fees and ROI Framework
After the September fee waiver ends, net return is the cashback rate minus the 1% transaction fee until the applicable cashback cap. At $500 per month a Standard user nets $15. At $2,500, the Standard cap point, the net is $75. At $5,000 a Premier user nets $250, while a Standard user nets $50 because spending above $2,500 pays the transaction fee without earning more cashback. During the current waiver, add one percentage point to those net rates.
MEXC Card Competitors
- vs Bitget: Both are custodial exchange cards with engagement-gated cashback. Bitget requires holding 20,000+ BGB for its top rate and focuses on EEA/APAC; MEXC uses trading-driven M-Score and covers more of Africa, Latin America, and Central Asia. MEXC currently waives purchase fees, then moves to a stated 1% after September 30.
- vs RedotPay: RedotPay's coverage overlaps heavily in mid-income markets and adds a physical card and ATM access, which MEXC lacks entirely. RedotPay's cashback is lower and less gated; MEXC pays more if you trade. For cash-dependent economies, RedotPay's ATM support is decisive.
- vs Oobit: Oobit's 5%/10% rates are eligible-spend-capped and Level-2 gated but do not require trading. Its Tap-to-Pay setup is simpler than MEXC's manual wallet entry. Our measured Oobit transaction carried about 3% in FX cost, while MEXC currently charges no purchase fee and later applies a stated 1% without its own FX markup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is MEXC crypto card available in the United States?
No. MEXC crypto card is not available in the United States.
Does MEXC have a promo code or welcome bonus for the card?
Yes. Sign up through SpendNode's MEXC link and code 4AwNR is applied automatically. New users who make a net deposit of at least 100 USDT within 7 days of their first deposit, hold it for 24 hours, and activate their first MEXC Card receive a 10 USDT welcome bonus. MEXC lists this as a limited-time offer.
What is the difference between the MEXC Global Card and the MEXC Card (APAC)?
The Global Card covers 100+ markets and charges no purchase fee through September 30, 2026, then 1%, with zero crypto conversion fee and zero MEXC FX markup. The APAC card covers only Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, and uses a different structure: no transaction fee, but a 1% crypto conversion fee and a 1% fee on cross-border purchases. After the Global promotion ends, same-currency purchases cost about 1% on either card; cross-border spending is cheaper on the Global Card.
How does MEXC Card cashback work?
Cashback is tied to MEXC's VVIP membership system. The Standard tier (M-Score 350-599) earns 4% with a 100 USDT monthly cashback cap, Premier (600-799) earns 6% capped at 300 USDT, and Elite (800+) earns 10% capped at 800 USDT. Your M-Score is driven by trading volume, activity, and security credit, and your rate is set by your tier on the last day of each month. Cashback is paid in USDT to your Spot account by the 15th of the following month.
Is MEXC Card cashback permanent?
MEXC describes the cashback program, the 7% APR Earn plan, and the card referral rewards as event-period benefits that may be adjusted or canceled after the event ends. The rates above are current as of our last verification, but treat them as promotional terms rather than permanent card features.
