SpendNode Rating for Xplace Platinum Card
Xplace Platinum stopped being a status buy. At 4% with 0% FX, the flagship now pays for itself on rate alone at moderate spend, with the club package as the bonus rather than the excuse.
The July 2026 doubling moved the break-even from about $4,200 to about $2,100 of monthly spend, and 4% with 0% FX on a $750K limit is one of the strongest earn profiles among premium crypto cards. $999 is still the steepest fee in the family and the score stays below Gold's on pure efficiency, but the cashback now justifies the tier without leaning on lounges and concierge. 4.0 on Cost Efficiency.

The Xplace Platinum Card is the flagship membership tier of Xplace, a non-custodial crypto credit card on Solana. For $999/year it delivers 4% USDC cashback, 0% FX, 10% XP, a mirror metal card, unlimited airport lounge access, private concierge, and a $750,000 monthly limit on the Kamino-backed USDC credit line.
What Is the Xplace Platinum Card?
The Xplace Platinum Card is the flagship tier of the Xplace program: a mirror-finish, non-custodial crypto credit card on Solana with 4% USDC cashback, a 0% card transaction fee, 0% FX, 10% XP, a $750,000 monthly spending limit ($25,000 per transaction), unlimited airport lounge access, five fast-track passes, private concierge, and VIP events, for $999/year.
Like the rest of the lineup, it is a borrow-to-spend credit line: you deposit SOL, jitoSOL, USDT, or ETH and BTC exposure (as wETH and cbBTC) into Kamino Finance, that collateral earns yield and backs a USDC credit line, and you spend it in Credit Mode (or spend deposited USDC in Cash Mode).
Platinum changed more than any other tier. The annual fee fell from $5,000 to $999, the 1% transaction fee is gone, FX dropped to 0%, and in July 2026 Xplace doubled Credit Mode cashback to 4%. Platinum now earns a clean +4% on every purchase, domestic or international, with no currency drag at all. Where it once needed half a million dollars a year just to break even, it recovers its $999 fee at roughly $2,100/month, and the lounge, concierge, and 10% XP package sits on top.

Fees and Rates
| Fee | Amount |

| Annual fee | $999 |
| Card transaction fee | 0% |
| FX fee | 0% |

| USDC cashback | 4% |

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic (base currency) | +$4.00 | $0 | $0 | +$4.00 |
| International | +$4.00 | $0 | $0 | +$4.00 |
Platinum has the highest return of any Xplace tier, and with 0% FX it is the same +4% everywhere. There is no domestic-versus-international gap to manage; only the $999 annual fee to recover.
Break-Even Math
| Monthly Spend | Cashback (4%) | Card + FX Fees | Annual Fee | Net |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $2,000 | +$960 | $0 | -$999 | -$39/yr |
| $5,000 | +$2,400 | $0 | -$999 | +$1,401/yr |
| $10,000 | +$4,800 | $0 | -$999 | +$3,801/yr |
| $20,000 | +$9,600 | $0 | -$999 | +$8,601/yr |
| $50,000 | +$24,000 | $0 | -$999 | +$23,001/yr |
Break-even is about $2,100/month ($24,975/year) of cashback-eligible spend, regardless of how much is foreign, because FX is 0%. Above that, the 4% compounds with no currency drag, and the lounge, concierge, and XP value is on top.
At Maximum Utilization ($750K/month)
- Annual cashback (4%): $360,000
- Card and FX fees: $0
- Annual fee: -$999
- Net: +$359,001/year
- XP earned: 10% of spend toward the token event
The $750,000 monthly limit and 0% FX make Platinum viable for institutional or UHNW spending, where the old 1% transaction fee would have quietly taken five figures a year.
How This Tier Compares
| Feature | Xplace Platinum | Crypto.com Obsidian | ether.fi Pinnacle | Bybit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Annual fee | $999 | $0 ($400K CRO stake) | $0 (points threshold) | $0 |
| Net cashback | +4% (all spend) | 5% | 3% | 2-10% |
| FX fee | 0% | 0% | 1% | Varies |
| Lounges | Unlimited (1,400+ network) | LoungeKey | Conference | None |
| Concierge | Yes | Yes | Coming soon | No |
| Monthly limit | $750K | Varies | $200K | Varies |
| Custody | Non-custodial | Custodial | Non-custodial | Custodial |
On raw cashback, the gap has mostly closed: Crypto.com Obsidian's 5% now leads Platinum's 4% by a single point while demanding roughly $400,000 of CRO staked, and Bybit's up-to-10% headline is custodial with variable tiers.
Platinum's case is the combination: +4% with 0% FX on every currency, unlimited lounges, concierge, a $750,000 limit, and full self-custody, at a $999 fee rather than a six-figure token lock. It is the cheapest route into an unlimited-lounge, concierge-grade crypto card that keeps your assets in your own Kamino position, and it now out-earns most of that class too.
Rewards on This Tier
Platinum pays 4% USDC cashback on Credit Mode spending plus 10% XP, the highest of any tier. It also earns 5% cashback on in-app hotel and flight bookings, and Cash Mode purchases earn 2% (the app publishes both mode rates; Cash Mode is half of Credit Mode on every tier).
Platinum is also the only tier with the full category-boost set added in July 2026, all on Credit Mode spend with calendar-month caps. AI subscriptions (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) earn 10% on up to $250 of monthly spend. Direct airline purchases at British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and United earn 10% on up to $500 per month, separate from the in-app booking cashback. Rides (Sixt, Uber, Wheely) earn 5% on up to $500 per month.
Capped out, the boosts pay $100 a month in category cashback ($25 from AI, $50 from airlines, $25 from rides), about $50 more than the flat 4% would return on the same $1,250 of spend. A Platinum holder buying one Emirates ticket a month already banks the airline boost's maximum on the first $500 of the fare.

SpendNode app screenshot
The airlines boost's tracking screen, exclusive to Platinum: 10% at six named carriers, tracked against the $500 monthly Credit Mode cap.
At $20,000/month (any currency mix, since FX is 0%):
- USDC cashback (4%): +$9,600/yr
- Card and FX fees: $0
- Annual fee: -$999
- Net cashback: +$8,601/yr
- XP earned: 10% of spend toward the Q4 2026 token event
XP is the speculative layer, and Platinum accumulates it fastest. Xplace has announced a token generation event (TGE) for Q4 2026 with XP weighting your allocation, and published allocations earmark 5% to ecosystem partners (Seeker, Superteam, cherry.fun) and 2.5% to NFT communities and DAOs (Claynosaurz, MonkeDAO, Lucid Drakes, Solana Sensei, Dead King Society). The Terms still hedge that no token has been issued yet, so treat XP as upside that is not locked in until the event lands.
Platinum's welcome package is the largest in the lineup: a 100,000 XP bonus on upgrade, a welcome offer of up to 200,000 XP after $20,000 of purchases in the first 6 months, and a $500 cashback welcome bonus once you deposit $25,000 and spend $10,000.

The Platinum welcome offer: up to 200,000 XP after $20,000 of purchases in the first 6 months, separate from the 100,000 XP upgrade bonus and the $500 cashback welcome bonus.
Lounge Value: Quantifying the $999 Fee
Lounge access is unlimited at this tier, so the value scales with how much you travel rather than capping out:
| Travel Frequency | Lounge Visits/Year | Value at $50/Visit |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly (12 trips) | 24 | $1,200 |
| Bi-weekly (26 trips) | 52 | $2,600 |
| Weekly (50 trips) | 100 | $5,000 |
These figures are illustrative, not a guaranteed recovery: actual value depends on how often you fly, your eligibility, and any guest or access limits in the lounge program's terms. As a reference point, a standalone Priority Pass or LoungeKey membership runs $400-500/year, so for frequent flyers the lounge access can offset a meaningful share of the $999 fee on its own, before cashback or XP.

Is the Xplace Platinum Card Safe?
Your collateral is non-custodial: it sits in Kamino Finance smart contracts on Solana rather than with Xplace, so a company failure does not hand your deposit to a receiver. The exposure that matters is the protocol, a Kamino exploit or a collateral-value drop that triggers an automatic liquidation Xplace cannot reverse.
Your $999 annual fee: Non-refundable if Xplace fails mid-year. At one-fifth of the old $5,000 Platinum fee, the carrying risk is far smaller than it was, though still the largest in the lineup.
Your XP: At the 10% rate, Platinum holders accumulate the largest XP positions in the ecosystem. If Xplace folds before the Q4 2026 TGE, that XP could be worthless, the biggest speculative exposure of any tier.
Your lifestyle perks: Lounge access and concierge stop immediately if the program ends. If you rely on lounges for business travel, keep a backup membership.
Risk framing: Your assets stay in your own Kamino position rather than on a platform balance, the structural advantage over a custodial card like Obsidian (around $400,000 of CRO locked) or an exchange card (whole balance at platform risk).
The downside is broader than the fee, though: you also carry Kamino liquidation and exploit risk, the variable borrow APR on any drawn credit, cashback the Terms allow Xplace to exclude or claw back, and the support-responsiveness issues we flag in our Xplace review. The $999 is the floor of what Platinum can cost you, not the ceiling.
Real User Scenarios
Scenario 1: Viktor (Zurich crypto fund director, $50,000/month spending)
Setup:
- Platinum ($999/year), institutional-grade personal spending
- 80% CHF, 20% international
- Travels weekly (50+ flights/year)
Results after 12 months:
- Total spending: $600,000
- Cashback (4%): +$24,000
- Card and FX fees (0%): $0
- Annual fee: -$999
- Lounge visits (about 100): roughly $5,000 of value
- XP earned (10%): 6,000,000 over the year
- Net guaranteed: +$23,001 in cash, before lounge value
His verdict: "The 0% FX changed this card once, and the 4% rate changed it again. There is no currency drag on my Swiss-franc spend and I clear +$23,000 in cash plus unlimited lounges. I keep my capital in my own Kamino position instead of locking $400K in CRO for an Obsidian. The 6,000,000 XP is upside on top."
Scenario 2: Priya (Dubai tech entrepreneur, $25,000/month spending)
Setup:
- Platinum ($999/year), travels bi-weekly (26 trips/year)
- 40% AED, 60% international multi-currency
- Uses concierge for reservations and travel
Results after 12 months:
- Total spending: $300,000
- Cashback (4%): +$12,000
- Card and FX fees (0%): $0
- Annual fee: -$999
- Lounge visits (about 52): roughly $2,600 of value
- XP earned (10%): 3,000,000 over the year
- Net guaranteed: +$11,001 in cash, before lounge and concierge value
Her verdict: "My spend is mostly non-AED and multi-currency, which used to be a problem on this card. With 0% FX and 4% back it is the opposite of a problem: I am +$11,000 in cash, plus the lounges and concierge I actually use. I switched off a custodial card after FTX, and Platinum lets me spend from my own wallet at scale without giving up the perks."
Scenario 3: Tomoko (Tokyo institutional OTC desk, $200,000/month spending)
Setup:
- Platinum ($999/year), needs the $750K monthly limit for client entertainment and operations
- 95% JPY, 5% international
- Premium card for client-facing meetings
Results after 12 months:
- Total spending: $2,400,000
- Cashback (4%): +$96,000
- Card and FX fees (0%): $0
- Annual fee: -$999
- XP earned (10%): 24,000,000 over the year
- Net guaranteed: +$95,001 in cash
Her verdict: "The JPY conversion used to kill the economics on this card. At 0% FX it is gone entirely, and at 4% my volume clears +$95,000 in cash before the XP, with the $750,000 limit handling desk operations and client entertainment. The mirror metal card projects the right image in meetings, and the 24,000,000 XP position is enormous. For a high-volume, non-USD spender, this card went from a loss to a serious earner."
Who Should Choose This Tier
Use the Xplace Platinum Card if:
- You spend roughly $2,100/month or more and want +4% net on every currency with no FX drag
- You travel enough to use unlimited lounge access and value private concierge
- You need a very high monthly limit; Platinum's $750,000 is among the highest we track on a self-custodial card
- You want maximum XP accumulation (10%) ahead of the Q4 2026 TGE, with full self-custody
Skip the Xplace Platinum Card if:
- You want the absolute highest rate: Crypto.com Obsidian (5%) or Bybit (up to 10%) still edge it, if you accept a $400K CRO lock or custodial risk
- You spend under about $2,100/month: Gold at $249 fits better, or Silver at $99
- You do not travel enough to use the lounge and concierge package
- You are uncomfortable with DeFi liquidation risk on your collateral
Our view: Platinum spent years as the lineup's hardest card to justify. The $5,000 fee fell to $999, the transaction fee disappeared, FX went to 0%, and the rate climbed to 4% - and it now sits with the strongest premium crypto cards anywhere. It earns +4% on every currency, breaks even at roughly $2,100/month, and bundles unlimited lounges, concierge, a $750,000 limit, and 10% XP on a non-custodial credit line.
Obsidian edges it by a point and Bybit's headline tiers go higher, but neither offers this package without a six-figure token lock or custodial exposure. For a frequent-traveling, higher-volume spender who wants self-custody, Platinum is now a front-runner rather than a lifestyle-only splurge. Lighter spenders should drop to Gold or Silver.

FAQ
What does the Platinum tier offer?
4% USDC cashback (doubled from 2% in July 2026) plus 10% XP, 5% on hotel and flight bookings, a $25,000 per-transaction limit, unlimited lounge access, 5 fast-track passes, private concierge, and VIP events. Platinum carries the full category-boost set: 10% on AI subscriptions (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, up to $250/mo of Credit Mode spend), 10% on six airlines including Emirates and Singapore Airlines (up to $500/mo), and 5% on rides (up to $500/mo). Cash Mode purchases earn 2%.
What does Platinum cost?
A $999 annual fee. In return, FX is 0% and the bank transfer and trading fees drop to 0.5% each.
How does the crypto-backed model work?
xPlace is a self-custodial crypto-backed credit card on Solana. You deposit collateral into Kamino Finance, keep earning yield on it, and borrow USDC against it to spend, so you do not sell your underlying crypto.
Who is Platinum for?
High spenders and frequent travelers. The $999 fee only makes sense if you use the 0% FX, the unlimited lounge access, and the 4% cashback enough to clear it, which happens at roughly $2,100 of monthly spend on cashback alone.
Is there an Xplace Platinum welcome bonus?
Yes, the largest in the lineup. New Platinum members get a 100,000 XP upgrade bonus, a welcome offer of up to 200,000 XP after $20,000 of purchases in the first 6 months, and a $500 cashback bonus once you deposit $25,000 and spend $10,000. Signing up through SpendNode's Xplace link takes you straight to the offer.
You retain custody of your funds until the moment of spending. Your balance is not exposed to provider insolvency risk.
Fees shown above are the card's disclosed fees. Additional costs may apply: Visa/Mastercard network spread (typically 0.5-0.9%), crypto-to-fiat conversion spread at point of sale, and blockchain gas fees for on-chain top-ups.
