Ready Card Stops as Its Issuer Winds Down

Ready's card program stopped July 30 after its issuer began winding down, days after the same wind-down paused Solflare. Self-custody kept wallet balances safe.

Ready Card Stops as Its Issuer Winds Down

Ready told cardholders on July 30, 2026 that its card program had stopped working. In a public statement, Ready's CEO said the company's card issuer is winding down and can no longer support the program: "We were given no notice, so if you were relying on the card today, you found out at roughly the same time we did." Users reported an in-app card outage the same day. Eligible card subscriptions will be refunded automatically, per the statement.

Kulipa's Wind-Down Reaches a Second Card

Ready's card was issued by Kulipa, the same partner whose wind-down stopped the Solflare Card two days earlier, on July 28. Two self-custodial cards, built by different teams on different chains, went dark for the same reason: the regulated entity that issued the plastic and settled transactions stopped operating.

Neither Ready nor Solflare announced a company shutdown. Both apps and both wallets keep running. The break sits one layer below the brand, at the issuer, where most cardholders never look. When several consumer brands lean on one issuer, that issuer's exit takes a whole cluster of cards down together.

Your USDC Stayed in Your Wallet

Because Ready is self-custodial, the outage did not touch user funds. USDC stayed in each user's own Starknet smart-contract wallet the whole time, reachable through the wallet rather than held by the issuer. Losing the card meant losing a way to spend, not access to money.

The Ready Lite and Ready Metal tiers, previously 0.5% and 3% STRK cashback across the EEA and UK, are the programs that stopped. Their terms are now historical. Ready says it is rebuilding on new infrastructure but has not named a relaunch date, a new issuer, or any fees or rewards.

Steps for Ready Cardholders

Confirm you can reach your Starknet wallet through your passkeys without the card feature. If you are not sure how, find out before you need to.

Keep a backup card on a different issuer. Two cards from different brands can still run on the same issuer, which is the same bet placed twice. Self-custody options you can use today include ether.fi and Gnosis Pay in Europe.

STRK cashback already credited to your wallet is yours and unaffected. Cashback that was earned but not yet distributed is the piece that could be at risk, since it runs through program infrastructure rather than sitting in your wallet, though neither Ready nor Solflare has reported a rewards loss.

Overview

Ready's card program stopped on July 30, 2026 after its issuer, Kulipa, began winding down, days after the same wind-down paused the Solflare Card. Because both cards are self-custodial, user balances stayed safe in their own wallets, and Ready says eligible subscriptions will be refunded. No relaunch date or terms are confirmed. The episode is a lesson in issuer concentration: diversifying across card brands does little when the brands share the same issuer underneath.
