Solid has published new unlock prices for its card tiers. In an official post on October 14, 2026, the company said the Prime tier can now be unlocked by locking 70,000 FUSE or by paying a $199 annual subscription, while the Ultra tier requires 600,000 FUSE locked. The post framed the new numbers as still cheaper to unlock than other premium cards, though it did not publish the prior prices alongside the change.
Two routes into Prime, one into Ultra
The structure splits along a clear line. Prime gives holders a choice: commit 70,000 FUSE to a lock, or pay a flat $199 per year. Ultra has no cash option in the announcement, only the 600,000 FUSE lock. That gap matters because the two paths behave differently over time. A subscription is a known annual cost you can budget against. A token lock ties your entry price to whatever FUSE is worth on the day you commit and for as long as your capital stays locked.
Solid runs euro cards with no foreign exchange markup on EUR spending, so the tier you unlock sits on top of a card that is already positioned for European day-to-day use. The tier mainly governs how much you can earn back on spending and which perks you reach, which is why the unlock cost is the number worth watching.
A FUSE lock is not a fixed price
Locking 70,000 or 600,000 FUSE is a staking-style commitment, and it carries the same risk as any token-staking card: the dollar value of your locked position moves with the market. If FUSE falls after you lock, the real cost of holding the tier rises, and the rewards you earn have to make up that drawdown before you are ahead. This is the same math that trips up holders of CRO-, PLU-, or FUSE-style cards, where a token slide can erase months of cashback gains.
The $199 Prime subscription sidesteps that entirely. You pay a fixed fee, you keep your capital, and your break-even depends only on how much you spend and earn back. For anyone who does not already hold FUSE or does not want token exposure, the cash path is the cleaner comparison against a standard annual card fee.
The read for existing and prospective holders
Current Prime holders should check how their existing unlock maps to the new figures before deciding whether to switch between the FUSE and subscription routes. Prospective Ultra holders face a larger decision: 600,000 FUSE is a sizeable position to lock, and the value of that stake is exposed to FUSE price swings for the full lock period, so size it against what you actually expect to spend and earn back rather than the headline cashback rate.
One caveat on the economics. Solid's claim that it still "costs less to unlock and pays more back than other top cards" is the vendor's own framing, and the post did not show the old prices or a side-by-side with rivals. Treat the unlock numbers as confirmed and the comparison as marketing until the full tier terms are checked in-app.
Overview
Solid moved its card tier pricing to 70,000 FUSE or $199 a year for Prime and 600,000 FUSE for Ultra. The subscription option gives Prime a fixed, predictable cost, while every FUSE route leaves your entry price exposed to the token's market value for as long as you stay locked. Verify your current tier against the new figures in the app, and weigh the cash path against the lock before committing capital.
