Integrity is the core infrastructure of SpendNode.io. Because we help users make critical decisions about their finances and digital assets, we adhere to a strict set of editorial standards designed so that our content is always accurate, unbiased, and objective.
1. Editorial Independence
Our editorial team has full autonomy over the cards we review and the guides we write.
- No Pay-to-Play: No company can pay to have a card included in a "Best Of" list or to increase its ranking.
- Separation of Concerns: Our business development team (which handles affiliate partnerships) is strictly decoupled from our research team. Our analysts often don't even know which cards have affiliate links and which don't.
2. Accuracy & Fact-Checking
Crypto card terms change rapidly. To maintain data integrity, we follow a three-layer verification process:
- Primary Source Verification: Every data point must be backed by official documentation from the issuer.
- Peer Review: Content is audited by a senior analyst before publication.
- Live Testing: We conduct periodic "mystery shopper" tests to verify that advertised speeds and fees match the real-world user experience.
3. Transparency on Compensation
We earn revenue through affiliate partnerships with some card issuers. Full details, including the list of current partners, are available in our Affiliate Disclosure. This compensation does not influence our evaluation of the product. Our priority is always the Net ROI for the user. If a card is expensive and has poor rewards, we will say so regardless of any affiliate relationship.
4. Analytical Tone
We avoid "Hype" and FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). Our writing style is neutral, objective, and data-dense. We focus on:
- Risks: Every card review must include a "Cons" or "Risk" section.
- Math: We prioritize ROI calculations over marketing taglines.
- Context: We explain why a certain feature matters (e.g., why Account Abstraction is safer than standard custody).
5. Correction Policy
Accuracy is our primary KPI. If we discover a factual error, we will:
- Correct the error immediately.
- Add a "Timestamped Correction" note to the page if the error was significant.
- Provide a clear path for users to report inaccuracies via hello@spendnode.io.
